I came across this image recently and thought it unique, and it actually took my breath away. The energy that clouds seem to contain is so beautiful to me and evokes a sense of melancholy in some ways, yet in others it's a metaphor for change. The clouds always moving whether at a snail's pace or with great force...seems change happens to us in the same manner. Change is a constant that we can always count on, whether we like it or not. Though to me, at this moment in my life, change is incredibly welcome! Bring it on!

note: the clouds are supposed to move, but sadly it's not working on here.

I love this image, it's incredibly empowering and to me those are the very best kind.

First day of spring
First day of spring--
I keep thinking about
the end of autumn
by Matsuo Basho
Well, I have to laugh at this one as anyone that knows me, knows that I live for Autumn...
Here is a portion of a landscape painting of mine...painted in 2008 - You'll see a Country white church off in the distance. I love to photograph churches in my travels and I have always envisioned that one day my 'studio' would be a little white church or stone church, on my property with beautiful stained glass windows with the light streaming in, especially at sunset and it would just make my sanctuary glow so beautifully. A few years ago I came across several old churches via an HGTV design show that showcased renovated churches whose owners turned them into their own personal homes. They were amazing!

Today, spring equinox arrived here in the northern hemisphere, upstate New York, to be exact. Well, we awoke to a layer of snow this morning ;( not at all uncharacteristic. I did however find some beautiful purple crocus blooming in my garden, which is a welcome sign that spring truly is here, if only just a glimpse of it.

It must be the change of season almost upon us here in NY, that makes me think of simple pleasures, the ones that can make my day or simply put a smile on my face. I love thunderstorms...love, love, love them!

I love my straw hat (though this one isn't mine). I love this image and the great feeling I get from looking at it. I think of Summertime, horseback riding, having a barbeque, going to the beach, strolling in a meadow, climbing a tree.

Thought I'd post my two newest paintings-in-progress. I work on a few at a time, but this is the first time I am literally working on these at the same time on my easel. A little crazy, I know! Most likely one more working session filling in my details and applying varnish to it. I wish I had something more exciting to post, but this is it for tonight.

I am dreaming of warmer weather. It is bitter cold here in upstate New York. This feels like the longest Winter ever...where are you Spring?
